Surveillance Video Recorders

NVR and DVR Security Camera Systems

Security video recorders provide a means of safely capturing surveillance video and storing it for future review. Some industries require archiving surveillance footage for a certain time period so it's crucial to determine your requirements beforehand. This determines not only how much drive space you require, but also how high of a resolution you want the cameras to be.

We supply both Digital Video Recorders (DVR)s and network video recorders (NVR)s for recording security footage. The DVR recorder has a variety of advanced functionalities including search options and can be set up to keep data for a period before overwriting it. This recorder offers real-time viewing without the delays of IP-based systems.

Network Video Recorders (NVR)s, on the other hand, contain no dedicated video capture hardware. Used mainly in IP systems, this type of security video recorder records the footage in digital form, wirelessly receiving information from IP cameras. As the data is sent wirelessly, the NVR security video recorder does not have to be in the same place as the cameras.

If you need NVR/DVR Accessories to complete your surveillance system, we have them all. We offer enclosures, rackmount ears, lockboxes and more. We are glad to be your go-to source for all your security requirements and will be happy to help you purchase the perfect product.

What's the difference between an NVR VS DVR?
DVRs
  • Can use without Internet connection
  • No separate power source is required for cameras, single cable run supplies data and power
  • Compatible with older analog security cameras
  • Not subject to the vulnerability of network
  • Not as many advanced features as NVRs
  • Usually don't have cloud storage options
NVRs
  • Wireless networking options
  • Minimal cabling involved
  • No hard-wired network connection required
  • State of the art software features
  • Can monitor cameras in offices across the country without having to pay for separate networks
  • Dependent on network
  • Signal interference may cause a loss in video quality
  • Increases burden on network bandwidth
