EMT Conduit Bodies / Junction Boxes

EMT Conduit Bodies

A Electrical Metallic Tubing Conduit Bodies have two main functions: providing access to cable and allowing conduit connections. The first function, having access to cable runs, allows you to easily pull, test and re-insert a cable run. The second function, being able to make conduit connections, allows for connecting different styles of conduit body connectors. Conduit connectors are advantageous because they allow you to make difficult connections that are not always possible or practical, such as full sweep bends.

Primus Cablecarries high-quality electrical metallic tubing (EMT) conduit bodies. The advantages of EMT conduit bodies are that EMT is lightweight and easy to install. Check out the different types.

Conduit Body Types
  • L-shape—allows for a 90 degree turn in conduit where a full 90 degree sweep (curved conduit section) is not possible. Subtypes include LB, LL, and LR, which are back, left, and right respectively.
  • T-shape—provides inline access to left and right. These also make sharp bends possible.
  • C-shape—straight through conduit bodies with access point for pulling.
  • "Service Ell"—allows access to the cabling system for pulling, inspection, and maintenance. These conduit bodies mount flush against a structure or external wall.

By understanding the various uses and types of conduit bodies, we can make your purchase easier. We can also streamline your job by supplying conduit bodies that will allow you access to your cables and the ability to make sharp bends. We realize every installation is unique, and our electrical conduit body is made to fit your specific runs.

Our selection of electrical conduit bodies is trusted by professionals in every field. Our top-of-the-line Copper Free AnyBODY™ Conduit Body is comprised of copper free aluminum die-cast. This electrical conduit body ships as an LB, but it converts to a T, LL, LR, or C by switching the blank plates and threaded flanges. It saves you the cost of stocking five different conduit bodies, and it's convenient.

Another option we offer is the Set-Screw AnyBODY™ Conduit Body for EMT or Rigid. This device also includes five different conduit bodies in one. It can be reconfigured as necessary by switching covers and flanges. It meets NEC 2008 Section 314.16 Paragraph C 2 for conduit bodies with splices, taps, and devices.
