Visual Fault Locator

A visual fault locator, commonly referred to as a VFL, is an essential fiber tool that quickly and easily locates problem areas in fiber cables. By sending out a 650nm laser using a visual fault locator, a technician can diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problem areas quickly and effectively.

Another simple use for a VFL is to simply identify a specific fiber cable within a bundle, whether it be directly from the patch panel or at a fiber switch. The red light emmited by a fiber optic visual fault locator is visible to the human eye and will eliminate any guess work when identifying cables.
