Proper cable pulling tools are essential for any large scale bulk Ethernet or fiber installation. Having the correct tools is essential for a safe and efficient installation. Pulling rope utilized must be dry, clean, and free of damage. It must be selected according to the appropriate specifications for pulling tension, cable gauge, and length of the run.
Heavy duty pulling applications necessitate cable pulling tools like the Composite Double Braid Pulling Rope. This high tensile strength, low stretch double braided cable pulling rope has factory spliced pulling eyes at each end. It is low stretch with a high tensile strength matched to an ideal pulling force. Low stretching tendency makes it safe for cable installers as it won’t snap back and injure anyone in the event of an accident.
The minimum break strength of this cable pulling rope varies depending on diameter size, but it ranges from 5,000 pounds per foot to as much as 42,000 pounds per foot. This pulling rope is available in diameters ranging from 3/8” to up to 1.”
Cable installation tools like fishing rods are also recommended for pulling wire and cable through insulated walls and in hard to reach areas. The 1/4" Fiberfish “FourPack” Wire Fishing Rods are cable pulling tools which can be screwed together to provide the necessary reach. These cable pulling tools are flexible enough for working inside insulated walls yet stiff enough for drop ceilings. Ideal for a wide range of challenges, the Fiberfish comes packaged in a handy vinyl pouch with a bullnose tip and fish hook.
The 5/16" Fibersnake Rod, Fiberglass Core w/ Plastic Coating is convenient for pulling fish line and rope. It is jacketed with a plastic coating for superior durability and flexibility. This cable pulling tool has rust proofed brass fittings and is non-conductive for working in conduit with existing wiring. The Fibersnake Rodder is intended for fish tape and rope pulling, not for pulling wire and cable.
Coming prepared with cable installation tools to your networking project will not only save you much frustration, but also save you time and money. Primus Cable carries everything you need to get the job done right the first time, every time.
