Optical Audio Cable
Toslink optical cable, popularly known as optical audio cable, is a standardized fiber optic connection for the transmission of digital audio signals in a home theater system. Optical audio cable technology allows for crystal clear sound since light rather than electricity is the medium of signal transmission. Electrically modulated pulses of light are utilized to send the audio signal, so it is not subject to electromagnetic interference. The optical audio cable also separates sender and receiver signals, and eliminates the ground loop.
