Telco

Long gone are the days of a singular rotary office phone. Whether you're routing 10, 20, 50, or more telephone lines through an office, we carry the telephone cables and telco accessories you'll need to get the job done. As always, you can rely on our products to be of the highest quality and meet or exceed all your performance expectations.

Types of Telecom Systems

KSU-less System

Ideal for businesses with 10 or fewer employees. Call-routing software is contained within each phone, which offers most features a business would require and is easy to arrange and relocate telecom devices. While telco system is inexpensive, installation, setup and maintenance is up to the business owner because it is not supported by a telecom or phone system vendor.

Key System

Ideal telco solution for businesses with 10-40 employees. Call-routing software is contained in a telecom cabinet and phones use a landline to make calls. Key systems use a telephone company that serves other businesses and the general public, whereas a PBX system only serves a particular business.

PBX (Private Branch Exchange) System

Ideal for mid- to large-sized companies. A PBX system can accommodate anywhere from two users to thousands of users. While more expensive, these systems offer the best long-term value for a company that expects to expand in the future. PBX systems notify users if a call is unable to go through or is disconnected. In addition, calls can be metered. These telecom systems also offer a variety of other services, including voicemail and call forwarding.

Telco Equipment

Telecom Block – telco blocks, 66 block and 110 block, are used to interconnect phone and data systems. While 66 blocks are older, they are still very common in today’s phone systems because they make connecting multiple phone lines to a given line very simple, and they are easy to troubleshoot. 110 blocks, on the other hand, are newer and more preferable for data networking because they preserve the twists in each pair right up to the connection point. To secure your 66 blocks, use a terminal block bracket. Also, mushroom Wire Posts are ideal for use with our patch panels to organize wires.

Cat3 Keystone Jack – Most commonly used for voice and data applications, cat3 telco jacks deliver excellent performance providing 16 MHz of bandwidth. In data applications, it is used in 10Base-T and 100Base-T networks. A typical cat3 jack has 6 positions for 110 punchdown contact. Our keystone cat3 telecom jacks are made with nickel-plated punchdown contacts and gold-plated RJ11/12 contacts, ensuring exceptional performance and durability.

Wall Plates – We carry both prewired and black wall plates. With prewired wall plates, choose between four or six conductor plates. While the advantages of pre-wired are ease of installation (no punchdown required), blank wall plates allow you to customize your telco connections.

Telecom Cable

Amphenol Type Cables – Amphenol type cables are associated with pre-wired 66 blocks. Each cable uses 25 pair pins (50 pins total) to send and receive telecom signals. They are used for connecting multiple voice lines and allow up to 25 channels per cable for phone lines.

Cat3 Cable – Cat3 cable is most commonly seen in telecommunication applications. The solid conductors terminate easily into IDC connectors, such as keystone jacks and modular plugs. There are variations of this cable such as plenum or raiser rated, 2 or 4 pair, as well as other things to look out for. Our Cat3 bulk cable has excellent attenuation and crosstalk characteristics. Cat3 cable is used in 10Base-T and 100Base-T networking.

Cross Connect Wire – Cross connect wire is ideal for establishing phone system interconnections. Using Cross-Connect Wire allows for very flexible and cost-effective installations. The cut-to-length jumper eliminates need for slack management and guarantees permanent installation aesthetics.
