Active Optical Cable, or AOC, is a new and ingenious way of making better and thinner HDMI cords. Using fiber optic, HDMI cords can reach new lengths and no longer need an amplifier to do so. The speed of fiber optic cable is an overall improvement to HDMI as a whole.
When using any AOC cable it is important to note that the cable is directional. Meaning the cable has specific ends for each device. They are denoted with a bezel saying "SOURCE" and "DISPLAY". The source connects to any of your video devices such as computers, laptops, DVRs, game consoles, and much more. Display connects to your end device such as a TV or a monitor.
