Electrical Metal Tubing Conduit and Fittings

EMT or Electrical Metal Tubing conduit is frequently used instead of galvanized rigid conduit as it is lighter and less expensive to utilize. EMT conduit is not threaded, but it can be used with threaded fittings clamped onto it. It is also less expensive and more efficient to install than other types of conduit due to lower labor costs associated with lighter material.

EMT conduit is generally manufactured of coated steel although it is sometimes made of aluminum. It is more frequently used in commercial and industrial applications, and not so much in residential buildings. Aluminum conduit is preferred for installations where higher corrosion resistance is required. Coated steel conduit is recommended for installations inside concrete, as aluminum reacts to alkalis in cement.

We offer EMT conduit in both straight sections and sweeps. We also supply fittings and couplers for EMT conduit, like the Combination Couplings EMT (1/2”-3/4”) to Flex (3/8”-3/4”). These couplings for EMT conduit are made of die cast zinc for solid durability. It is available in 3/8”, ½”, and ¾” flex versions.

Another popular product we offer is the EMT Compression Couplings UL/CSA Listed Concrete Tight. It is suitable for use with steel and aluminum EMT conduit, IMC, and rigid conduit. These couplers are available in sizes ranging from ½” to up to 4”.
