Security Alarm Cable Stranded

Security Alarm Cable Made in the USA

Keeping America Safe – One day at a time!

Security alarm cable is the backbone of burglar alarm and surveillance systems everywhere. A vast selection of stranded security cable is available in general purpose, riser, plenum, and shielded versions. We have cable suitable for every application, so please consider where it will be installed in order to comply with building codes.

The National Electric Code (NEC) specifications, published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulate the installation of security alarm wiring. Conformance to these codes ensures stranded security cable is safe for its intended purpose. We recommend CMP rated stranded security cable when being run through plenum air ducts.

The Security Alarm Cable - 18/2 (7 Strand), Plenum CMP Rated, Unshielded, 1000' was created with security systems in mind, but is also used for intercom systems, power limited controls and sound/audio systems. It has two 18 gauge stranded copper conductors in a low smoke PVC jacket. It is safe for installation inside plenum spaces.

Vertical networking applications require riser rated stranded security cable to safely run from floor to floor. We offer the Security Alarm Cable - 22/2 (7 Strand), Riser CMR Rated, Shielded, 1000'. This 22 gauge two conductor stranded security cable has seven strand copper conductors and a CMR rating for floor to floor applications.

It is supplied in 1,000 foot increments with sequential footage markers on the jacket so you always know how much cable is remaining. The conductors are aluminum foil shielded, protecting the data signal from outside EMI.

Get prepared for your next project with our selection of cable cutters and strippers. These come in handy preparing cable for termination. Some of our wire strippers function both as strippers and cable cutters, saving you both time and money. We have cable strippers suitable for working with coax, Ethernet, and fiber as well as stranded security cable.
