In order to maintain high speed performance of your network, you’ll need a switch up to par with your network. Gigabit Ethernet switches can handle 1,000 Mbps networking while adjusting power consumption to handle traffic levels. These come in both managed and unmanaged varieties to suit the application.

Our unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switches are excellent for home office and small business networks. They tend to be plug and play operable, requiring little maintenance. Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switches do not support IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol ) and treat multicast traffic in the same fashion as broadcast traffic, which can overwhelm a network when uncontrolled and lead to broadcast storms (Extreme amounts of broadcast traffic).

A managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch offers the same functionality of an unmanaged switch however it also offers plenty of other features that make it possible to manage and troubleshoot a network. Managed switches use a protocol called Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). SNMP is used to relay network configuration data to network engineers and allow them to set configuration parameters remotely. SNMP reduces troubleshooting time and increases uptime. Managed Switches also have data prioritization that is important in all networks especially industrial networks.

Quality of Service features allow prioritizing of traffic with IP or MAC address. This Gigabit Ethernet switch makes sure voice and video transmissions are clear and sharp. It has abundant layer 2 features like IGMP Snooping and Loop Back Detection for additional security.

Our Gigabit Ethernet Switches Conform to IEEE Standards.
  • IEEE 802.1s Multiple Spanning Tree provides high link availability in multiple VLAN environments.
  • Support IEEE 802.1d/w Spanning Tree (STP/RSTP).
  • Supports IEEE 802.3ad port trunk with LACP.
