RG-59 Coax Cable

RG-59 Coax Cable

RG59 Coaxial Cable Overview

We sell a vast array of RG59 Cables and accessories. We supply 500 and 1000 foot spools that are available in both black or white colors. Our coax cable is made with a rugged jacket that will give you excellent signal.

On the ends of your coax cable runs, you will need to attach a connector, for example, a BNC Connector or an F-Type Connector. With our RG59 coax cable, connectors, and Coaxial Tools, you will achieve quality installation for you and your customers.

RG59 Coaxial Cable Overview

"RG" refers to "Radio Guide", originally a unit indicator for bulk RF cable in the U.S. military's Joint Electronics Type Designation System. "59" was simply the page of the Radio Guide.

RG59/U is a type of coax cable that is for RF signals and low-power video. In general, RG59 isn’t designed with a heavy-coverage shield, making it more useful in lower frequency signals such as closed circuit television (CCTV) and video surveillance. RG59 coaxial tops out around 75 Ohms and does not keep a high Gigahertz level.

It is often used at baseband video frequencies, such as composite video. It may also be used for broadcast frequencies, but its high-frequency losses are too high to allow its use over long distances; in these applications, RG6 or RG11 is used instead. In cases where the transmission distance is too long for these media, such options as UTP (unshielded twisted pair) or fiber optic can be used. However, UTP such as CAT6 has too many twists in the twisted pairs that result as a poor choice of media for analog signals over long distances; the preferred medium is fiber optic cable.

RG59 coaxial cable is most common in consumer settings such as with VCRs, Television, digital cable, and satellite. Because it is a relatively inexpensive cable, it is a cost effective solution to connecting short-range audio/video signals. Also because it is inexpensive, manufacturers and suppliers include RG59 jumper cables with any consumer electronic device.

In addition to the applications mentioned above, RG-59 is an excellent cable synchronize two digital audio devices, such as ADAT optical devices. This is called word clock.

Siamese RG59 Cable

Siamese RG59 Cable allows you to install both video and power using a single run, say, to your security cameras. Inside the Siamese cable jacket is a heavily shielded cable, giving you maximum protection from electromagnetic interference (EMI), and contains a coax cable for video and a pair of 18 gauge conductors for power, giving you the ability to run AC or DC power to your cameras.

The advantages of using Siamese RG59 coaxial cable for CCTV applications are that this RG59 cable can be used for video transmission and power, it is heavily shielded from EMI, and that it has the durability to handle long-term installation over long-distance runs.

Outdoor and Direct Burial RG59 Coaxial Cable

Not all systems are indoors. For outdoor runs, having Outdoor RG59 Coax and Direct Burial RG59 is critical. It will prevent your cable from water damage and other problems associated with extreme temperatures.

This cable is constructed of a 20AWG solid bare copper, providing you with excellent connectivity. The number one way to prevent signal loss and signal interference is through the use of shielding—the 95% braided shield on our RG59 outdoor coaxial cable will ensure that you maintain excellent attenuation and maximum protection from signal interference. The RG59 outdoor coax cable jacket is rated for direct burial as well as UV protection.

Coaxial Keystone Jacks

Designed for you home theater and security alarm installations, our coaxial keystone jacks give your installations performance and a professional look. Coax Keystone Jacks have a rectangular face and snap in tabs that fit right into your Wall Plate. They’re very simple to use. Run you coaxial cable through the wall, crimp your coaxial connector with one of our Coaxial Crimpers and plug it in.

Coax Tools

From Cutting and Stripping to Crimping and Plugging, we carry all of your Coaxial Tool needs.

Coaxial Connectors

We carry a variety of RG59 Coax Connectors, including RCA, BNC and F-type connectors for dual and quad shield, as well as twist on and compression connectors. Factors that may include your choice may include how robust the connection is intended to be, what the application is, and personal preference.
