This 16 gauge speaker wire is composed of 2 or 4 bare copper conductors composed of 65 strands of copper per conductor. It has a black PVC outer jacket and 16 gauge conductors. This speaker wire is ideal for providing high quality digital audio signals from audio components to a receiver or amplifier. It is supplied in a wooden spool of 500 feet.

Choosing The Right Gauge

Petroleum Based Waterproofing Solution

Gel Filled direct burial cabling is a great solution to your entertainment installation if you want to make sure the cables you purchase last through years of seasonal weather changes, moisture, pests and short term temperature shifts. Should cracks or gashes develop on the cable's outer jacket, the gel is able to seal them up, providing a barrier of protection between the environment and the copper wiring.

Multiple Layer Based Waterproofing Solution

Utilizing multiple layers of of dry water proof tape to ensure a substantial level of waterproofing. Each individual are wrapped in PET with a layer of Mylar shielding wrapped around the entire bundle. These layers protect and shield the audio cables from the weather conditions similar to the gel filled cable solutions.

2 Conductor

Two-conductor speaker wire is effective when wiring a single wall speaker powered by a single amplifier. A wire with more conductors does not equate to better sound; each is designed for purposes unrelated to sound quality.

4 Conductor

Designed for bi-amping, which means using two amplifiers for a single wall speaker, four-conductor speaker wire has a higher threshold for power compared to two-conductor speaker wire.

Banana Connectors

Banana plugs make wall speaker installations a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or wall speakers that use traditional binding posts. Banana plugs make it much easier to plug into your receiver or speakers system and they prevent the wires from being exposed, which reduces the risk of wear and tear, preventing loss of sound quality.

Pin Connectors

Spade connectors are almost exclusively used with binding posts. They provide the same features as the former two connectors but allow for an external connection to the speaker system or amplifier.

Spade Connectors

Pin connectors work with spring-loaded terminals (also known as spring clips) but can also work with binding posts that have a hole in the side of the inside connector. This connector also reduces the wear and tear on the end of the speaker wires, thus preventing loss of sound quality.
