AFL's portfolio of fiber optic cable products is unmatched. Beginning with optical ground wire (OPGW), introduced in 1984 as AFL's flagship product, the line now spans to fiber optic cabling solutions being used in the world’s harshest environments, including those above ground, below ground and even underwater.

AFL manufactures a variety of fiber optic cable and fiber optic FAST connectors. AFL FAST connectors are factory pre-polished and created to ensure precision fiber alignment. AFL FAST connectors are compatible with 250µm and 900µm optical fibers, as well as 900µm, 2mm and 3mm cordage. Primus Cable carries AFL FAST connectors LC, SC, and ST single mode fiber optic cable, as well as for multimode OM1, OM2, OM3, and OM4 fiber optic cable.

Primus Cable offers the AFL fiber optic FAST connector, like the Fiber Optic FAST Connector, Pre-Polished, Single Mode, 9/125, LC, 6 Pack. FASTConnect™ field-installable connectors are factory pre-polished connectors that completely eliminate the need for hand polishing in the field. These FAST connectors offer an immediate low loss termination solution for single mode or multimode optical fibers. These are color coded per industry standards for ease of identification.

Primus Cable also provides multimode fiber optic cable manufactured by AFL. Their fiber optic cable is available in 2 strand, 4 strand, 6 strand, and 12 strand versions for 10 Gig OM3 indoor and outdoor plenum applications. AFL’s indoor/outdoor fiber optic cable has a UV stabilizer incorporated into its jacket to protect against sunlight exposure.

    AFL Telecommunications FuseConnect fusion-splice field-terminated connectors are uniquely designed, featuring just four components.

    With a factory pre-polished ferrule, its innovative field-termination process eliminates polishing, adhesives, and crimping in the field using the FuseConnect Installation Kit.

    FuseConnect utilizes a fusion splicer to terminate a connector in the field, addressing return loss concerns present in analog optical networks.

    AFL Poli-MOD adapter and pigtails

    AFL Poli-MOD Adapter Plate and Pigtail

    AFL's new Poli-MOD is an innovative patch and splice module, which offers an inventive and effective means to accommodate up to 24 fiber interconnections in an industry-standard, single-slot LGX®118 footprint. The new Poli-MOD offers a unique and robust way to secure cable without the need for time-wasting, tie-wrap alternatives. Additionally, the module leverages a creative snap-in splice sleeve cradle to securely manage both single and ribbon fiber arrangements. These features provide the capacity to outfit a standard 4RU rack-mount panel with up to 288-fiber interconnections.

    The Poli-MOD is also offered in an arrangement that supports the low loss budget requirements of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) networks. This is accomplished through the elimination of an interconnection point while providing a robust splicing environment for rack and wall-mount panel applications.

    AFL Wall Mount Interconnect Enclosure

    AFL's wall mount interconnect enclosures provide a convenient convergence point for interconnecting and/or splicing in wall mount applications.  Provisioned for up to two LGX compatible adapter plates or optical modules, the enclosure features a well-engineered solution for fiber and cable management on both the ingress and egress openings of the enclosure.  Robust steel construction ensures the highest level of protection for sensitive components while integrated roll-formed hinges eliminate possible fiber pinch points when installing or servicing components within.  The wall mount interconnect enclosures feature discrete access doors for provider and customer access which are independently lockable with a common pad-lock or tube-style key lock.
