    Bulk fiber optic cable is ideal for high bandwidth data applications over both long and short distances at the speed of light. This is possible with very low attenuation and signal loss since it is propagation of a light signal rather than electrical. Our made in America bulk fiber optic cable is available in tight buffered distribution form.

    Its designed for applications requiring a single termination point with multiple fibers. It can be installed in intra-building backbone and inter-building campus locations without expensive transitions between cable types. We offer both plenum and riser rated bulk fiber optic cables for indoor and outdoor installations.

    When running bulk fiber optic cable, please take into consideration whether or not it will be running from floor to floor or through airflow spaces. For trunking applications where fiber distribution cable is being run through plenum areas, we offer the Distribution Fiber Optic Cable, Single Mode, 9/125, Indoor/Outdoor, Plenum.     The single mode fiber itself measures 8.3 to 10 microns in diameter with one mode of transmission. It requires a light source with a narrow spectral width for signal propagation over a 1310 to 1550nm wavelength. It sends data over 50 times greater distance than multimode. This bulk fiber optic cable is in compliance with NEC section 770.179(a) for installation in plenums and air ducts. It is available in 2 strand through up to 72 strand versions.

    Optical Fiber Nonconductive Riser (OFNR) distribution fiber cables are distinct from Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP), and general-purpose optical cable. OFNR cables cannot be installed in plenum areas since they do not have the required fire and smoking rating as Plenum rated cables. OFNP plenum cables can be used as substitutes for OFNR cables.
